Launching a new skincare or makeup line often starts with a unique packaging concept. Many brand owners wonder how a rough idea turns into thousands of finished bottles, lip gloss tubes and jars. Our standard workflow follows 5 core stages: Idea → Drawing → Sampling → Mold Making → Mass Production.
Step 1: Confirm Your Idea
Everything starts with your concept.
Share your reference pictures, expected capacity, preferred material (PET, PETG, PP, AS, ABS), surface finish, decoration method, target MOQ and timeline.
Our engineering team will run a feasibility check first: whether the shape can be molded, whether the selected material works well with your formula, and estimate the cost.
What we need from you: reference samples, sketches, Pantone color, decoration requirements, formula information.
Step 2: Engineering Drawing & 3D Design
After confirming all requirements, our designer and engineer turn your idea into professional 2D technical drawings and 3D models.
We define dimensions, wall thickness, thread structure, matching tolerance for caps/pumps, and reserved area for silk printing, hot stamping or electroplating.
We send the 3D file to you for review. Revisions are allowed until the design is fully locked. No mold work starts before design approval.
Step 3: Physical Sampling
This is the stage to touch and test your packaging.
We produce physical prototypes based on the confirmed 3D file. Our strength here is fast turnaround: samples ready within 3 working days.
You can check the hand feel, transparency, assembly fit, sealing performance, and test compatibility with your cosmetic formula.
If you are not satisfied with the look or function, we adjust the design and make revised samples. Only after your sample approval do we move to mold building.
Step 4: Mold Making
Once the sample is signed off, we start steel mold fabrication.
Mold quality directly decides the appearance, precision and consistency of final products. Complex shapes, wavy textures and multi-part structures need carefully polished molds.
We carry out CNC machining, EDM, polishing and mold assembly. After the mold is finished, we run trial samples (T1 samples) to verify dimensional stability, flash, sink mark and closing fit. Minor mold tuning is normal at this stage.
Step 5: Mass Production
With trial samples confirmed, we arrange formal bulk production.
We use the approved raw material, follow the confirmed decoration process (spraying, electroplating, laser engraving, screen printing).
In-process QC inspection runs through the whole production: size check, leak test, appearance sorting, assembly test.
Finished goods will be packed properly and ready for shipment.
Frequently Asked Questions
1,Can I skip sampling and go straight to mold?
Not recommended. Sampling helps you find structural or material risks early and avoid expensive mold rework.
2,How long does custom development take?
Simple design: fast sampling in 3 working days; mold lead time depends on structure complexity. We will share a clear timeline for each project.
3,Can I add custom finishes such as gradient spray or matte effect?
Yes. We support spraying, electroplating, UV coating, silk screen printing, hot stamping and laser engraving on PETG, PP, ABS and other cosmetic packaging materials.
